My Morning Ritual

Getting ready for a big meeting always requires being mentally available. The way I’ve learned how to be mentally available is my morning ritual. I am always hacking my morning ritual to improve it.

The outcome: Being grounded, energized, am present for my day.

The timeline:

Get up 8 hours after going to sleep. Probably 6:30ish

Splash ice cold (from the spigot) water on my face for 1 minute to toughen up my face and character

Put my lotions on my face while massaging and tapping, eye exercises for clarity in vision, face exercises to tone my chin/neck.

I go in my meditation room and bow 3 times. Each bow is for a different thing/concept that I appreciate at the moment.

I then meditate for 1 hour. I use two bio feedback devices: HRV monitor and MUSE Brainwave monitor. I have two iPhones to show me the results of the sensors. These help me keep focused on mediating. I also listen to a bunch of Calm guided meditations during that hour. Sometimes I listen to other meditations. Today I enjoyed this one and really enjoyed it.

After my mediation I take my kittens for a walk and get into the early morning sunshine to set my circadian rhythm.

Then I drink a Bulletproof coffee which doesn’t have any sugar or milk, but only ghee, MCT oil, salt and vanilla. I froth it for 20 seconds to make the water turn into EZWater.

I take a ton of vitamins.

If I have more time I’ll do some yoga. This morning I did so I did a nice yoga routine that I like doing. Check out Glo for yoga online. My yoga studio also has created a few on demand classes.
