Today I want to share with you my office setup. I have a special offer for you at the end of this post.

Principles for my design:

  1. Comfortable

  2. Healthy and energy

  3. Professional

Comfort first, just like all my clothes. I have a Dyson heater which has no oder, cleanses the air, and is quiet and wonderful. Standing desks feel comfortable to me. I stand on an anti-fatigue mat covered in an IKEA faux fur rug. My Fully chair is great for when my legs are too tired to stand.

Health and Energy are critical to me.

I stand almost all day. I have a VariDesk Converters standing desk because it increases both my health and energy. If I sit I start getting sleepy. When I stand I feel great. I give a lot of speeches and standing is much more professional.

I have lighting that helps my eyes. I use the Lumi SummerGlo lightbulbs. They make it feel like summer in my room. I use a LED strip light around the top to give me more light. I keep this light set to a summer glow type yellow.

I am very lucky to be married to a posture coach! He has helped me design my desk to ensure that I am not injuring myself. Problems that can happen are when the monitors require a lot of head turning to see them or looking up or down causes neck strain. When I told him that I am doing this post, he said that he would give my friends a free lesson! I told him that he is very busy and I have a ton a friends! So he said he would limit it to the first 10 that schedule a posture evaluation.

The next step is my professional set up. I had to interview for a job during COVID so setting up my professional office backdrop was also critical.

I love plants and they also increase creativity. I have hard copies of four of the books I wrote on my shelf. The other books are my favorite business books.

I have several awards I’ve won from Toastmasters including my Distinguished Toastmaster award. The art piece is one of my mottos: Don’t follow where the path may lead. Instead go where there is no path and blaze a trail.

I hope you enjoyed my review of my office set up. Post pictures of yours in the comments below where you found this post.
